Resuming Literate Scientist Blog

Sunday, March 20th, 2011

Due to my Mod N Reading System I had to suspend this blog because N became large (about 100 or more books) and there wasn’t enough read material to review. Now I accumulated some books fully read from cover to cover and many others read to a sufficient number of pages to make an opinion and suggest recommendations. So I’m resuming this blog and plan to write about the next book tomorrow. It will be a history of social sciences. I plan to introduce a new book every day or so. I also made an alteration to Mod N reading to include thematic encyclopedias. Stay tuned.

Here is the reading system I devised to read all books that I review on this blog:

Iterative and Incremental Book Reviewing

Monday, July 6th, 2009

Finally I adopted the following process for book reviews:

1. Start reading a book.

2. After sometime put an initial reveiw on this blog.

3. Iteratively and incrementally revise it during read. For example, add additional bits as soon as I discover something good or bad worth mentioning in the book review.

4. When the book is finished put its review blog post into a category: From Cover To Cover.

5. Put the review on Amazon and mark this appropriately by putting its blog post into another category: Reviewed on Amazon.

Blog Anniversary

Saturday, January 3rd, 2009

Yesterday it had been one year since I wrote the first blog post here:

The Nonlinear Universe: Chaos, Emergence, Life

Since then I wrote reviews about more than 35 books and I plan at least to double them this year.

In 2008 my book collection expanded a bit. I bought about 66 books on Amazon US, 40 books on Amazon UK, 6 books on Amazon Canada and several dozens of books in local bookshops so there is much to review here :-)

I wish a Happy New Year to all voracious readers in the World!
